About me

Hi, I'm Jenny.

I'm a practice manager at a small primary care practice with a lot of older patients. That means I'm the person who checks eligibility when the front desk is slammed, chases the denial, files the credentialing paperwork, runs the HIPAA training and takes the call from a patient who doesn't understand their bill.

Clinic Revenue Guides started as my own notes. Every time I had to dig through CMS manuals to answer a billing question, I wrote down the answer in plain English so I'd never have to dig again. Over time the notes turned into checklists, then cheat sheets, then a spreadsheet to see which Medicare services we were doing and not billing.

I figured if I needed them, other small offices probably do too. So I cleaned them up and put them here.

How I make these

I write each guide from the work itself, then check it against the official sources: CMS fee schedule files, MLN booklets, the claims processing manual, X12 code lists. The staff guides and the Medicare kit list their sources. I use AI tools to help with drafting and layout, and I check the content myself.

What I won't do

No patient information, ever. Every example in every file is made up. I won't name the practice I work for, and I don't put patient stories in anything I sell.

What I'm not

I'm not a lawyer, a consultant, or CMS. These are educational references. Rules change and vary by MAC, so check with yours before you change how you bill, and have a certified coder look at anything big.

A note on the name

I started out selling these as Plainchart Guides. Clinic Revenue Guides says more plainly what they're for, so that's the name going forward. You may still see Plainchart Guides on checkout and inside the files while I switch everything over.

If you have a question, a correction, or an idea for a guide your office needs, email me at [email protected]. Corrections especially. If I got something wrong, I want to know.
